Real Estate

Founder and creator of New Luna Ventures L.P. , a private equity fund for investment in high-performance building developments.

Trustee to diversified real estate portfolio located in Northern and Southern California - portfolio management, growth and diversification strategy, financial assessment and reporting, estate planning, administration, legal and accounting oversight.

Advised real estate developers on project conceptualization for highest and best use redevelopment and joint-venture co-development. Performed financial modeling, joint-venture structures, and workout strategy of distressed, in-process real estate development projects.

Created project vision for conversion of 140,000 sq. ft. mixed-use historic office building into boutique hotel or condo, financially modeled redevelopment options, developed pitch package, identified and secured co-developer partner.

Structured private equity fund for developer/investor from the Los Angeles film industry for investment in the Hawaii.

Attorney on behalf of bank real estate owned assets during the FSLIC/RTC era, including commercial real estate litigation, land-use, and construction defect litigation. (1988 – 1991)

Information Technology/Cleantech

Performed competitive survey of the energy monitoring and efficiency sector. Identified business model market voids.

Advised energy monitoring software/data capture start-up on business model adaptation, competitive differentiation, business plan strategy, and investor communications.

Founder, Chairman, of R4 Global Solutions, a RFID- technology provider. Built management team, guided product development, and instituted and grew sales into multiple sectors. Lead successful disposition to Verisign in 2005.

In depth M & A knowledge gained through acquisition of twelve companies within nine months as EVP of Appnet. Took the company through successful IPO with timely exit to Commerce One in 2000



Energy

Advisor to Energy Solutions Group, an alternative energy advisory firm. Counseled investment firms on approaches to permitting for onshore and offshore energy resource development.

Advisor to consortium of international investors, including Australian Investment Bank on economic feasibility and regulatory hurdles in acquisition of US energy provider.

Performed economic analysis of alternative approaches to clean tech retrofit of historic building - recreational use.

Mentor through MIT alumni to new venture producing energy efficient upgrades to standard engine technologies.

Previous Projects (1990 – 2000)

Assisted more than 20 foreign and domestic, IT, venture-backed entrepreneurial companies with US market entry including:
